During the month of March, we’re joining a global community of almost 4,000 business to celebrate what it means to be a B Corp and share the story about #BetterBusiness.

What’s Aromatherapy Associates brand mission?

Aromatherapy Associates was founded with the purpose to share the therapeutic powers of essential oils for your wellbeing, with a care for people and the planet at our core. In 2020, we joined the family of B Corps – an important moment in our company’s history and confirming our pledge to continue to put people and the planet on the same footing as profit.

What does it mean to be certified B Corp?

With our B Corp certification, we are able to create a better business that represents the highest standards of environmental and social impact and to live and breathe this as part of our whole business operandi. For Aromatherapy Associates, it’s not just about being the best in the world but best for the world. Our aim is to leave a stronger legacy for the brand for people’s wellbeing the impact we have on the planet and the people we serve.

To celebrate both International Women’s Day and B Corp Month, our CEO, Anna Teal, spoke with founder of sustainable, ethical luxury brand and fellow B Corp Elvis & Kresse, Kresse Wesling MBE – discussing their personal experiences as female leaders, the journey to becoming B Corp certified and why brands supporting each other is more important than ever.

What does it mean to be certified B Corp?

Since our very beginnings, our core values as a brand have always been to leave a stronger legacy for people’s wellbeing, the impact it has on the planet and the people it serves.

Here are examples of what we have achieved to date.

In addition to our planet credentials, we are committed to taking a mindful approach to the origins, workers wellbeing and certification of all our oils and botanicals, tracing all our oils back to their source. 

We have established a collaborative initiative with our supplies, to improve social and environmental performance over time.

What does the future look like for Aromatherapy Associates?

As a certified B Corp, we are committed to becoming the most sustainable business we can be, being the best for the world in our environmentally conscious and eco-friendly efforts.

We pledge to become carbon neutral across our direct company operations by 2023, and all of our plastic packaging will be 100% recyclable, reusable or compostable.

Becoming a B Corp is not the end of our story. This is a new chapter in a journey we started when the business was founded, working together as a team, engaging with communities, inspiring others and becoming the most sustainable business we can be.
